New Years Day!

I felt bad for the kids since we had such a rockin New Years Eve party without them so we had kids over New Years Day and had fun. They played the WII, a round of Lave Ball (with much supervision) and I let them finally made a gingerbread house-you know since the season over. It was all broken up in the box so I have each pair of kids a side to decorate. I had horrible luck putting it together but this was the finished product. We all had a good time even though I was super grumpy after partying the night before.

New Years Eve Party

My husband it to fun. At his request we have a New Year's Eve party whenever possible. We've always had lots of hors d'œuvre and lots of spontaneous fun. My friend Karissa gave me decorations and fun things for the party so I felt excited to actually decorate and maybe even plan a few things. We let our older kids go play with their friends(thank you Amy) and we put the little ones down to bed. I did my best to decorate and had 10 'min to win it' games planned for 2010 and even had prizes. We spent the night eating Matt's killer homemade tamales and sides that everyone so generously brought-my fav was the veggie tray and 'best in the high desert salsa'. We didn't even start the games till after midnight and kids ended up calling before we ended. We had a really good time playing the games, we unrolled toilet paper rolls and balanced cookies on our heads. We stopped short when I went to pick up kids. I came back to everyone passing a ball around the room trying to keep it off the ground for as long as possible. It got named 'lava ball' The game went on until three in the morning and was more good clean fun than any grown adult should be allowed to have. I felt bad the Whittings had gone to get there kids and didn't get to play but I don't know if Kailey could have safely dove with her cute prego belly. So, although my games were fun and it was pretty funny watching everyone attempt them I've decided that we are much better at spontaneous- All we need is Matt's yummy food and childlike mind to have a good time.
The girls at the table talking
and the boys in the kitchen gathered
around Matt's buffalo shrimp.

Happy New Years!

Christmas Letter LATE!!!

Sorry this is late! This year we’ve had a lot going on that’s taken a lot of figuring out but after a few hard knocks we feel like were getting back on our feet. I’d say we are almost starting to feel a little normal but I don’t think our family will ever be normal and I’m perfectly okay with that. We hope this finds you all well and enjoying the season as much as we are.

Our family has moved twice this year and twice last year. It’s unsettling to say the least but I think it’s helped us realize what the important things are in life and what the essential things to hold onto are- each other, family and good friends. We are so grateful for family and friends that have helped see us through some ups and downs. We are now living back in Apple Valley, CA and loving it.

Matt, our superhero dad is working hard for Merrell Engineering as a field technician doing inspections on development projects which has been a great blessing for our family. This keeps him busy but he still manages to serve in the church, help me out w dinner and bedtime and spend time with the kids. He is my dream come true husband even though he still acts like one of the kids! Guess Who?

They are all doing really well. The four oldest all attend the same elementary which is quite the site in CA. Sierra(A), is growing up into a beautiful, responsible young women and is keeping us all in line. She has a strong desire to do her very best. Kaila(D) is following right behind her as when they were little, always trying to keep up with her big sister and amazingly having fun doing it. She show kindness for all around her. Alyssa(B) is always making sure everyone is being taken care of. She will even remind me to give Emma her medicine. Her newest passion is for our new puppy Shadow, she is a very compassionate for her age. Little Emma(E) started Kindergarten and is soaking it all up. She’s had a really great year since her surgery enjoying her new found strength and as always gives strength to all around her. Matthew(C) is in pre-school four days a week and loving it. He’s growing up so fast and is a great little man. Tessa(F) keeps us all on our toes with her wild ways and attitude. She’s got so much spunk and wants to do whatever everyone else is doing. Together they keep us crazy busy but soooo
loving going through it all together.

We love you all and hope you’re all doing well and enjoyed Christmas as much as we did. Have a
happy new year and may it bring you great joys and blessings. The Cobb Family

Utah Trip

June 12-15
The first month of summer has gone sooooo fast but now July hit I feel like we are in slow mooooo. I'm not quite sure what we should do now but we definitely plan on having fun. So here's my catch of for June. The day school got out I took Sierra, Kaila, Alyssa, and Tessa to an Andersen Family Reunion in Utah. We drove to Las Vegas picked up my mom and drove on to St. George where we met up with my sister Christine and we all stayed with my Aunt Rhea and Uncle Evan(the kids love their house, who wouldn't.) We spent Friday, Sat, Sun, and Monday doing all kinds of fun family reunion stuff. I wrote it all down somewhere but all I remember now is it was all kinds of fun. I had camera probs but my sister Christine emailed me some pictures which I will attempt to put on now.
We went ice blocking and I had to keep chasing after Tessa who didn't understand that the people that were sliding down the hill had ice under them so she kept trying to go herself. Once I caught up to her she decided to take me down and pounce on me.

The kids looooved playing with their cousins, here's just a couple shots of the fun at the park we went ice blocking and my grandma's backyard.

My Grandpa Asay isn't doing very well and had to go to a assisted living center. All the cousins went to see him and sang songs. It was really great to see him and to feel all the love with these awesome kids.

We had so much fun all weekend. The Heywoods came over Friday night for some swimmin and fun. The Carters came for the rest of the weekend and hung out. We swam all day Saturday and Monday. It was so fun having friends over. It's been a while. We enjoyed it so much. It made life feel normal with everything we've had going on. I loved it.

Breakfast for Dinner Sunday Tradition

We did this every Sunday before me moved. We've only snuck it in a few times but tonight was fun. Each kid chose what shape they wanted. Emma wanted Mickey and Minnie. Alyssa had a snowman. Kaila had a flower and Sierra had a Mickey Mouse Snowman. Matthew ate Kaila's horse head she requested which turned into a round of 'He swallowed the horse to catch the fly who.....I don't why he swollowed the fly'. It was a fun night. Everyone's nervous about this week so it was nice to just chill and have fun and even though Tessa and Matthew both looked disgusted they ate everything on their plate.
I really felt the spirit today. Thanks so much for all those that fasted and prayed with us. I know that everything will be ok. Whatever they say I know the Lords in control and will bless us. Love you all
